It is safe. That’s what pediatrician, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, who exposed the Flint water crisis, says about the COVID-19 vaccine for children. It’s been approved for kids12 to 15 by the FDA and she had her daughters, ages 12 and 15 vaccinated today.

“They’ve missed out on so much this year,” says Dr. Hanna-Attisha. “In-person school and field trips and sports and summer camps and sleepovers and carpools and playdates, all these things that are critical parts of being a just a regular kid. These are important things for normal health and development of children.”

Hanna-Attisha says her children were very worried when she had COVID last year. She says the pandemic has taken a huge toll on mental and emotional health of kids and their educational experiences.
