County Board Moving Toward Resumption Of In-Person Meetings

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners could soon be meeting in person again. Commissioner Jim Curran reported Thursday the administration committee has made a request to County Administrator Brian Dissette.

“To put together some numbers, under our current guidelines, for the conference room, how many people it would hold under those guidelines,” Curran said. “Also putting together a hybrid of some meetings in person, some virtual, to see how we can eventually come to the goal of meeting in person again in the administration building.”

Commissioners have been meeting remotely throughout the pandemic, like most local governing bodies. There is still a question of whether the meetings would continue to be broadcast over YouTube so the public can see them. Curran said Dissette’s report should be brought back to the committee soon so the board can “make this happen.”
