State Reports 1,600 Additional COVID Cases Wednesday

Michigan is reporting 1,681 new cases of COVID-19 for Wednesday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that brings the state’s total to more than 554,000 since the pandemic started in March. There were six additional deaths to report for Tuesday, bringing Michigan’s COVID death total to 14,411. The state says Berrien County added 30 additional COVID cases over Tuesday for a total of 9,949. Van Buren County’s cases increased by 14 to 4,427. No COVID-19 deaths were recorded in either county, leaving those figures at 204 in Berrien County and 81 in Van Buren County. Meanwhile, Michigan’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard on Wednesday showed more than 760,000 people have been given a vaccine dose as of Monday, now well over the number of cases the state has had since the pandemic began.
