Denise Marie (Broyles) James

Denise James, 55 was born to Charles Broyles Sr and Earnestine Broyles on August 24, 1965. Denise fulfilled her earthly duties and departed this life on January 8, 2021 at Spectrum hospital in Saint Joseph, MI, after battling a short illness. Denise attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and was a proud graduate of the Benton Harbor High School class of 1983. She was a TRUE TIGER.

Denise was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, humbly serving until her untimely death. She served her community through her sisterhood with the Sister’s from Another Mother she loved all of her co-workers and friends at the Benton Harbor Area Schools/First Student transportation department. Where she worked for over 30 years. Denise enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Her smile and laughter will truly be missed.

Denise leaves to cherish her memories her father and mother; her husband Louis James; her daughters Erica Broyles and Taneika Payne; sons Devon Buchanan, Joshua and Louis James Jr; sisters Evelyn and Regina Broyles; brothers Bazzon and Charles Broyles Jr; Sister-in-laws Robin (Michael) Tisdel, Rose (Holden) James; Brother-in-laws Lee James Jr and Richard (Penny) James; favorite cousin Wilhelmina Broyles, special Aunt Arlene Sisson; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Denise is preceded in death by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, mother and father-in-law, and brother-in-law Rinex James.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
