State Representative Pauline Wendzel has announced the launch of a program that gives weatherization grants to Michigan small businesses so they can save money during the winter months. The program is run by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Wendzel says as the weather gets cold and COVID is rampant, many businesses facing capacity limitations will be looking for ways to continue operating safely. The grants are being administered by the Small Business Association of Michigan and the application process will open on November 18 at noon. The grants will be awarded to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis, with special consideration given to fulfill a minimum of ten requests in each of Michigan’s prosperity regions. Wendzel says the grants can help businesses continue operating under unusual and difficult circumstances. Businesses can apply for them at MiWinterGrants.com.
