Dennis “Denny” Lyle Harris

Dennis “Denny” Lyle Harris, 78, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Denny was born July 20, 1942 to Lyle and Monica (Farrell) Harris in Marshall, Michigan. He married Nancy Kenwabikise on April 15, 1967 at St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven and they shared 53 years of marriage before his passing. Denny worked as a welder for the Local Union #190 for 52 years before his retirement. He also worked on the Alaskan Pipeline. He had a love for the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing with his canine companions. Denny also enjoyed snowmobile racing and was a race car driver.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Harris, sister, Patricia Harris, and grandson, Brandt McFadden.

Denny is survived by his wife, Nancy Harris, children – Pamela Garber of Detroit and Doug (Cherri) Harris of South Haven; brother – Bill (LouEllen) Harris of Afton, and grandchildren – Mikayla Harris and Reagan and Drake McFadden.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township, Michigan with Pastor Gary Guthrie officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Denny’s honor to Al-Van Humane Society at P.O. Box 421, South Haven, MI 49090.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, South Haven.
