Pauline G. (Cross) Heldt

Pauline G. Heldt, 102, of, Lawrence, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Meadow Woods in Bloomingdale.

She was born September 4, 1918 in Lawrence, the daughter of Gail Cross and Mary (Palmer) Cross.

Pauline was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, where she was very active in the community. She was a founding member of the Van Buren County Historical Museum, and was a member of  the garden club. Pauline devoted many hours and years researching the history of Lawrence and Van Buren County. She was a longtime member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Heldt, her son, Douglas Heldt along with her four siblings.

She is survived by her two sons, James (Cheryl) Heldt of Lawrence and John (Carla) Heldt of Mattawan, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren  and one great great grandchild.

The family received friends on Monday, November 2, 2020 beginning at 10:00 am at the Lawrence United Methodist Church, where services will be at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Van Buren County  Historical Society PO Box 452, Hartford, MI 49057-0452.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
