From Hutchins Funeral Home, Watervliet

Dolores’ life began May 18, 1935, in West Tampa, Florida.  She grew up in Florida, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953.  Growing up in Tampa had a big influence on Dolores’ cooking where Sunday afternoon dinners Often included meals of yellow rice and chicken and everyone’s favorite roast pork with black beans.  While attending an Elvis concert in Florida she met Gerald Youdell who was stationed in Tampa while serving in the Air Force.  In January of 1957 they married and moved to Watervliet where Gerald grew up.  In spite of being from Florida, Dolores Came to like snow and especially loved decorating the house at Christmas time. Dolores loved being a mom to their two children Edward and Holly.  She worked outside the home selling real-estate and was Watervliet Township Clerk for several years.  Dolores enjoyed her free time boating and traveling with Gerald and spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren.

Dolores leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: two children Edward (Elizabeth) Youdell of Lake Bluff, IL and Holly Garland of Portage; five grandchildren Taylor Sawyer, Kate Youdell, Gerrit Youdell, Madison Garland, and Charlie Youdell; two nieces Michelle Haggart and Pam Bousquet; and two nephews Mark Youdell and Adam Youdell.

Dolores died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at West Woods of Bridgman.  Her loving husband Gerald, her parents Antonio Cabrera and Catherine Arden and a sister Grace Korse precede Dolores in death.  Funeral services will be celebrated for Dolores Saturday, October 31, at 1:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet with visitation prior starting at 12:00 noon.  Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Dolores’ name to Watervliet Lion’s Club. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Dolores’ family.
