Michigan State Police say their partnership with the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety to conduct extra enforcement in the city produced positive results. State police say since the Secure Cities Partnership began in August, traffic patrols have resulted in 58 felony arrests, 24 felony warrants, 25 misdemeanor warrants, 5 drunk driving arrests, and the seizure of 47 handguns and 4 long guns. State police also say much effort was also put into positive community encounters that involved patronizing local businesses and troopers meeting with community leaders and faith-based organizations. The Secure Cities Partnership has now come to an end.
