Many west Michigan production facilities are resuming marginal operations. Grand Valley State University Director of Supply Management Research in Brian Long surveyed local business leaders about what’s ahead. He spoke to Michigan News Network about his predictions.

“As we start to pull out, we have to take a look at how far they do come back and when they come back,” Long said. “Right now, we’re looking at a lot of pent-up demand, and we don’t know where we’ll stand with some of these industries come the fall.”

Long says the west Michigan automotive industry stands the best chance for recovery over the short term. That’s compared to the office furniture and aerospace industries.
