A Michigan House committee hears testimony about toll roads, but didn’t take any action on legislation that would call for a feasibility study. Senator John Bizon of Battle Creek is the sponsor of the bill. He spoke in the Senate about the plan.

“the purpose of the study is to see what are the benefits, what are the risks, what are the best practices, how can we make an informed decision,” Bizon said.

Bizon told Michigan House Transportation Committee members he didn’t have a specific cost for the study, but said it could be hundreds of thousands of dollars. Michigan Department of Transportation workers say many states are looking into putting toll roads on interstates including Rhode Island and Indiana.
