Berrien County is among the hardest-hit areas in west Michigan for COVID-19, with at least 32 cases and one death to date. Kalamazoo County has 24 cases and one death, while Grand Rapids has the most cases on this side of the state with 96 and one death. State Representative Pauline Wendzel is reminding people she is ready and willing to help.

“I have complete faith and confidence in our healthcare providers and our local law enforcement and the people in this community that we come together in the face of this crisis and we’ll get through this,” says Wendzel. “I’m here to help in any way I possibly can. Please feel free to reach out to my office at any time night or day, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.”

Wendzel talked to WSJM News about the state’s efforts to fight COVID-19.

“I say we should keep doing what we’re doing. Michigan has just been reported though our cellphone usage, which is interesting, that we are adhering to the stay at home order to the best of our abilities,” adds Wendzel. “I know that this is a tough time for Michiganders, but Berrien County has always been resilient, and I know we can tackle any issue that faces our community.”
