Spectrum Health Lakeland Taking Supply Donations

You can now make donations of medical and sanitation supplies to Spectrum Health Lakeland. Vice president of philanthropy Brandi Smith tells WSJM News they’re collecting N95 face masks, gloves, face shields, disposable lab coats, bleach wipes, and swabs, among other things. Spectrum Health Lakeland is feeling the effects of a run on supplies.

“The national shortage of protective gear is affecting all healthcare systems,” Smith said. “We have a supply. We just are anticipating that the need will continue to grow, so that’s why we’re reaching out to the community at this time for their support.”

Smith says people have already started making donations as soon as the organization began collecting them.

“Our community is incredibly generous, and whatever the situation is, they always show up in times of need.”

You can see a list of needed items at SpectrumHealthLakeland.org/COVID19. The donations will be accepted at the Lakeland building at 2550 Meadowbrook Road in Benton Harbor, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
