A postal worker is dead following a fiery crash in Allegan County on Monday. The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department says it happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. on 10th Street south of Carrie Avenue in Gun Plains Township. When police arrived at the scene, they found a pick-up in the road and a postal vehicle in the ditch, fully engulfed in flames. The postal vehicle was completely destroyed and the body of its driver, 55-year-old Sheila Gay Rackley of Martin, was found inside once the flames were put out. The sheriff’s department says the pick-up was southbound when it crashed into the postal delivery vehicle that was stopped at a mailbox. Neither alcohol or drugs are believed to have been factors in the crash, but toxicology testing will be conducted. The man who was driving the pick-up has not been identified by police as they say charges may be coming.
