Three SWMI Blueberry Growers Appointed To Michigan Blueberry Commission

Two people from South Haven and one from Bloomingdale will serve two-year terms on the Michigan Blueberry Commission. Governor Whitmer reappointed Creela Hamlin of South Haven to represent at-large growers. She owns Lake Michigan Berry LLC. Cornerstone Ag Enterprises owner Robert Bodtke of South Haven succeeds Steven Hunt, also of South Haven, and will represent District 2 growers. Also appointed was Brookside Farm LLC partner Carly Jo Parsley of Bloomingdale to represent District 2 farmers. She will succeed James Sumners. The Michigan Blueberry Commission is part of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and works to improve the economic position and competitiveness of the state’s blueberry industry through support of research, education, and promotion programs. The appointments are subject to state Senate approval.
