WSJM News Director Doug Cunningham interviews Lisa Ruby, Public Benefits Attorney at the Michigan Poverty Law Program about the federal lawsuit against new work requirements for Healthy Michigan recipients. Judges have already struck down similar requirements in Kentucky and Arkansas. A suit against Indiana’s Medicaid work reporting requirements has been stopped after a lawsuit was filed against it. Ruby says the requirements are designed to cut people off from the Medicaid expansion coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
