Only two months after starting her new job as superintendent at Traverse City Public Schools, former St. Joseph Public Schools Superintendent Ann Cardon has run into some problems. Interlochen Public Radio reports the board of education in Traverse City held a special meeting Friday, possibly to discuss Cardon. The outfit reports four of seven board members “allegedly want to remove Cardon from her post due to what has been described as differences in how to handle the school district’s budget.” There was big turnout for Friday’s meeting with IPR reporting nearly 30 members of the public speaking in favor of Cardon. Not one speaker supported removing her. Board member Erica Moon Mohr said Cardon is being bullied. The board went into a roughly 90 minute closed session, and after it emerged, one trustee told reporters Cardon is still the district’s superintendent.
