Marian Eileen Arend, 93, of Baroda, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 18, 2019 Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Third Street, Baroda with Reverend Adam Bohland officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM Friday, May 17, at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Marian was born Thursday, October 15, 1925 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (Gnodtke) Geike. On October 19, 1946, she married Vere William Arend and he preceded her in death in 2012. Marian enjoyed being a homemaker and being with her family. Marian was a faithful, lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ and an auxiliary member of the Baroda American Legion Post 345.
Survivors include her sons: Dennis (Becky) Arend, Kevin (Janice) Arend, Keith (Marlene) Arend, Brian Arend and Bruce (Sandy) Arend; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a sister: Lorraine Scott.
She was also preceded in death by her son Gregory and an infant daughter, Eileen Arend; great grandchild: Brandon Arend; sisters: Betty Walker, Joyce Morlock and Janice Mensinger; brothers: Robert Geike and her twin, Marvin Geike.
