Flick Pick is a podcast about movies. In today’s episode, Andrew Green and Jacob Holmes discuss the new movies opening this week in Benton Harbor.
This week, we have four new films playing locally.
First up is Detective Pikachu, which is based on Pokemon and features Ryan Reynolds voicing a CGI Pikachu. A young man enlists the titular detective to help him find his father. Jacob will be there.
Up next is The Hustle. It’s a comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. In this film, the two of them pull off various scams for our amusement.
Third in line is Poms. It’s a comedy starring Diane Keaton, about a woman who starts a cheerleading squad in a retirement community. It’s said to be uplifting.
Finally, we have Tolkien. It stars Nicholas Hoult as the young JRR Tolkien. Andrew may see this one, even though he’s never read anything by Tolkien.
Also, Jacob and Andrew will talk about the films they have most recently seen. For Jacob, it’s the 1989 Batman, which had a special engagement at Celebration Cinema in Benton Harbor last week. For Andrew, it’s The Intruder, a thriller with Dennis Quaid.
