Michalina “Mickey” S. Drabik, 88 of Stevensville, MI passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St. St. Joseph with Very Rev. Robert Creagan officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit Friday, May 10, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph from 5:00 PM until 7:00. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Ridge Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. Mickey was born on September 3, 1930 in Zdzary, Poland to Jan & Aniela Sum. She married Emil Drabik in 1949 with whom she had two daughters Ursula and Krystyna. Mickey attended high school in Poland and came to the United States in 1967. She was a skilled seamstress and worked as a costume maker for the Metropolitan Opera for over 30 years before retiring. It is here she worked with many notable performers such as Luciana Pavarotti and learned her appreciation for Opera Music. In 1975 she re-married to John Matusewicz in New York, New York. They loved traveling the world. Mickey enjoyed planning, hosting and attending social gatherings she was a great cook and loved to cater food for these events. Mickey also enjoyed volunteering her time during the election season.

Mickey is survived by her daughters Ursula (Geoffrey) Kosciuk of St. Joseph, Krystyna (Waldemar) Bartnik of Opole, Poland; four grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Emil & John and four siblings.
