Carla Jean Custard, 79, of Niles, passed away at Westwoods of Niles on Monday, April 29, 2019.
Carla was born on February 20, 1940, to the late Guy and Anna (Tomchez) Moore in Hartford, Michigan. After graduating from high school, Carla later married Robert Custard at a ceremony in Niles. They had two sons, Kevin and Andy. Carla loved having family get-togethers, going on fishing trips with her husband, tending to her flower garden, and her time spent on the family farm in Buchanan. Carla was active for many years in the Berrien County Fair where she enjoyed showing her goats that she had trained as well as bred.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy E. Moore and Anna Eva Burbage; husband, Robert Custard in 2009; and brother, Richard Moore.
Carla is survived by her sons, Kevin (Karol) Custard of Niles and Andy (Cindy) Custard of Constantine, Michigan; grandchildren, T.J. (Stephanie) Custard of Niles, Craig (Brittany) Custard of Niles, and Chad (Nichole) Custard of Buchanan; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Anita Mullins of South Bend, Patricia Moore of Coloma, and Sandra Grice of Kentucky; special nephew, Neil (Shelley) Oaks of Florida; and many extended family members and close friends.
In keeping with Carla’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
