Timothy Allen “Tim” Lehman, 62, of Berrien Center, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Billie Dalton officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to AIM at Melanoma Foundation. Tim was born in Benton Harbor on July 17, 1956, to Leonard and Sue (Woodall) Lehman. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1974. Tim married the love of his life, Donna Umfress, in Berrien Springs on September 27, 1975. Tim opened his own business, Midwest Roofing Specialists, Inc., in 1984 and for the past decade he has proudly co-owned the business with his son, Dustin.
While he thoroughly enjoyed working and growing his business, Tim knew how to separate work and play times. An avid outdoorsman, ‘Big T’ (or TL5000 – as those who worked with him would call him) enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and all things nature. His true joy; however, was his family and his favorite thing to be called was Papa. He loved his family and was the true ‘rock’, always helping others and giving of himself.
Tim is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Dustin (Lisa) Lehman of Berrien Center and Sara (Keith Cawley) Lehman of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Kyla and Alissa Lehman and Kyle Cawley; siblings, Jeff (Diana) Lehman of Berrien Springs, Frank (Cindy) Micheli of Livermore, CA, Kathy (John) Luppe of Saudi Arabia, Barb (Dale) Rudlaff of Berrien Springs, Karen Cook of Baroda, Patti (Chris) Laski of Stevensville, and Judy (Michael) Coss of Greer, SC; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
