Fred Lebeda, age 89, of Cassopolis, died peacefully February 26, 2019 in the comfort of his family’s presence.
He was born October 16, 1929 in Murdo, South Dakota to Thomas and Sophia Lebeda.
He married his wife of 59 years, Helen Gibson, in South Dakota on May 28, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2014.
Fred will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughters, Patty Trakas of Lawrence, Phyllis Thompson of Watervliet; sons, Chris Lebeda of Lawrence, Tim (Maria) Lebeda of 29 Palms, California, Kenneth Lebeda of Cassopolis, Jeff Lebeda of Las Vegas, Freddie (Pat) Lebeda of Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service with full Military Honors at 6:30 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.
Fred’s remains will be laid to rest in Murdo City Cemetery, Murdo, South Dakota.
