Raymond Lee Jahnke

Raymond L. Jahnke, 88, of Niles, passed away on February 9, 2019 at Lakeland Hospital of Niles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorial donations in Ray’s memory may be made to Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, St. Joe where he was a member.

Ray was born April 4, 1930 in Benton Harbor to Reinhold and Mary (Latislaw) Jahnke.   He was employed by Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles for 44 years. Ray was a member of Berrien County, Coloma and Watervliet Sportsmen’s Club and also was the state shooting champion for his age group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping and anything outdoors and with his family.

Raymond is survived by his wife Caroline whom he married on November 29, 1952; one sister Leona Tober of Daytona, Fla.; brother in laws Bill (Millie) Carney of St. Joseph and Don (Sharon) Carney of Coloma; sister in law Mary Krugler of Texas; three nieces and eight nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Michael Raymond Jahnke.
