Michael Odosij

November 11, 1922 – February 10, 2019

Michael Odosij, 96, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Michael was born on November 11, 1922, to Petero and Anna Odosij in Kolomyia, Ukraine. In 1945 he married the love of his life, Zena. Michael was a well-educated man. He went to school in the Ukraine, Poland, Germany and the United States. Michael could read, write and speak in several languages. He was a skilled carpenter, tool & die maker, good with electronics and at one point owned a farm. Michael enjoyed gardening later in in life and even had a small orchard. In his younger years, he enjoyed dancing with his wife Zena at the Crystal Palace.

Michael is survived by his sons, Eugene (Joyce) Odosij of Benton Harbor and Walter (Sally) Odosij of Grand Rapids, both are United States Army Veterans and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Petero & Anna; wife, Zena and two sisters.
