Judith “Judy” Hayes, 74, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital St. Joseph.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave. St. Joseph with Rev. Chad Harlan and Rev. David Colp officiating. Friends may visit from 12:30 PM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. In honor of Judy’s vibrant personality the family asks that you wear something bright and colorful. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God- Vacation Bible School Fund.  Judy was born on November 29, 1944 in South Bend, IN to James Leroy & Flonnie (Morrow) Brooks. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School class of 1962. Judy worked as an administrative assistant for Whirlpool for 25 plus years before retiring. She was an active member of First Church of God where she volunteered all of her time. She sang in the choir, handed out prayer shawls and crocheted Cross bookmarks, and was involved in children’s ministries, vacation bible school and numerous other activities. Judy never hesitated to share her faith and love for Jesus with anyone and always extended the invitation to attend church to everyone she met. She was the unofficial greeter at McDonald’s and Burger King where she made some wonderful friends and impacted many people. Judy will be remembered for her vibrant, kind and loving personality.

 She is survived by her daughter Jodi (Brad) Mattner of Baroda, MI; son Tom (Mariea) Brinkley of Pellston, MI; grandchildren, Anita, Serina, TJ, Jacob and Josh; great-granddaughter Penelope-Louise; sisters, Janice (Jim) Tull and Kathy (Mike) Lemire; numerous nieces and nephews and her First Church of God Family.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jim (Carlis) Brooks.
