Malcolm “Manny” James Irwin

Malcolm “Manny” James Irwin, 62, of South Haven passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 in his home. He was born February 11, 1956 to Frank and Mildred (Holt) Irwin in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He graduated from Rudyard High School in 1974. Manny served his country in the US Navy for six years. Manny married Linda (Andersen) Irwin on February 25, 1978 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He worked as an Independent Consultant in Nuclear Energy for many years. Manny loved to gamble and considered Las Vegas to be his second home. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing cards with friends.

Manny is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Linda and children – Steve (Heather) Irwin of Hopewell, Junction, New York, Nikki (Matt) DeRosia of St. Joseph, Michigan, and Heather (Jason) Vanlandingham of South Haven, Michigan. Grandchildren – Chloe, Mason, Silas, and Amelia. Siblings – Mike (Sara) Irwin of Bloomington, Indiana; Mitch Irwin of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Millard Irwin of Kincheloe, Michigan; Moe (Angie) Irwin of Beaverton, Michigan and Mia (Bill) Wheeler of Marshall, Michigan.

A visitation will be held Sunday, January 13th from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. A visitation will also be held Monday, January 14, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating. Manny will be laid to rest at the Peace Lutheran Memorial Garden in South Haven. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church at 06321 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, MI 49090 or to the American Legion Post #49, 129 Michigan Avenue, South Haven, MI 49090.
