Albert T. “Al” Vanderhoof, 88, of Stevensville, passed away, Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Sondra Levin officiating. Al was born February 13, 1930 in Nina, Wisconsin. He moved to Benton Harbor as a youngster and graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1948. Al served his country in the United States Army, and upon his return began his career as an accountant & bookkeeper. He owned and operated Al Vanderhoof Accounting, and never fully retired as he still had several long-time clients. Al was a member of Temple B’nai Shalom and a former member of the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph Rotary Club. He thoroughly enjoyed his work.
Al is survived by his wife Iris Nudelman Smith, whom he married on August 13, 1969 in St. Joseph; two brothers-Leonard Vanderhoof of Palo Alto, CA & Clyde (Martha) Vanderhoof of Martha, VA; his sister Susan Vanderhoof; several nieces & nephews; and a family cousin Harriet Israel of Naples, FL.
