George W. Kandlstorfer, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on Monday, December 24, 2018.
George was born on September 30, 1927, to the late Anton and Catherine (Wallisch) Kandlstorfer in Dowagiac. He was a lifelong resident of Dowagiac.
George served his country for eight years from 1951 to 1959. George fought on heartbreak ridge during the Korean War. George will be missed around town buying his lottery tickets at Hardings, getting lunch at the hospital, but most of all by the little animals and birds that he always cared for and fed.
George you’ve gone home, I can’t wait to see those tomato plants your growing up there. God bless you.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; four brothers, John, Tony, Robert and Joseph; three sisters, Margaret, Sally and Annie.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Garden where he will be laid to rest in the veterans section next to his wife.
