Cheryl Pedde (Hauwetter), 69, a long-time resident of Stevensville, died on the 26th of December, 2018 after a 2.5 year courageous battle with colon cancer while at Hanson Hospice Center.

Born in Benton Harbor Cheryl attended and graduated from Benton Harbor schools.  Growing up she gained a very strong work ethic and worked until her retirement from LECO Corporation.

Cheryl enjoyed sewing, eating good food, cooking, and was an avid gardener.   During the summer months you could catch her attending to her vegetable, fruit and flower gardens.  She especially enjoyed providing the overabundance of fruits and vegetables to her family members.

Her husband, John “Pete” Pedde, and her parents Al and Peggy Hauwetter preceded Cheryl in death.   She will be remembered with love by her devoted daughters, Tiffany (Jeff) Rodriguez and Leah (Chad) Zavoral; 8 grandchildren Marshall (Ashley) and Austin Zavoral and Samantha Rodriguez, and Lindsay, Cassidy, Shelbie, Bayelie and Colby Zavoral, her great-granddaughter, Oakley Mae Zavoral and great-grandson, Damien McKenzie Sayban, her brother, Bruce Hauwetter of Stevensville and her sister, Betty (Bruce) Rutherford of Houston, TX.  She will be missed by all of us.

We would like to express a special thank you to the attentive and caring staff of Hanson Hospice Center who provided extra care and support during her final days.

Those who knew Cheryl know she hated being fussed over and per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hanson Hospice. Those wishing to leave a message of condolence for the family may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
