George Siskaninetz

George Siskaninetz, 83, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away Monday December 24, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.
He was born February 11, 1935 in Decatur, the son of the late John and Mary (Forzan) Siskaninetz .

George joined the Air Force after graduating from Decatur High School, he then proudly served his country in  the Air Force. He worked for the Eaton Corporation for 25 years and retired from MDOT. George served as Past Commander for the American Legion McGowen-Johnson Post 68, Paw Paw. He was a member of the Otsego Elks Lodge #1711 and the Marcellus VFW Men’s Auxiliary #4054. George enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard. Above all, George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On July 16, 1960, he married Nancy Donovan Siskaninetz who survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Lynn Staggs of Kalamazoo; son, Dan (Paula) Siskaninetz of Gobles; three grandsons, Joshua (Megan) Staggs Sr., Matthew Staggs, Rex  Siskaninetz; three great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Gunner Staggs and Joshua Staggs, Jr.; brother, Paul (Betty) Siskaninetz of Lawton, and his sister in law, Patricia Green of Lawrence along with many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by nine sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 29, 2018, beginning at 11:00 am -12:00 pm. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. A life celebration will follow at 12:00 pm with James Abshagen and Eric Striklin officiating. Interment at the Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple City Veterans Memorial Park, Paw Paw.
