Jesse White

Jesse White transitioned on December 18, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. Legacy farewell services will be held on December 27, 2018, at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 171 N Euclid Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022 with visitation starting at 10:00 am and followed by services at 11:00 am.

Jesse White was born December 22, 1928, in Cleveland, Arkansas.  He was one of thirteen children born to the union of Tom and Susie (Mitchem) White.

Jesse was educated in the Cleveland, Arkansas area. He excelled in all sports but had a special affinity for basketball. At an early age, he accepted Christ and worshiped with his family at the Moores Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Cleveland, Arkansas.  He has been a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for the past 30 years.

Jesse relocated to Benton Harbor, MI in 1949 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952, where he served until receiving an honorable discharge.  On September 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to Malinda who proceeded him in death in 2005.

Jesse worked and retired from Michigan Standard Alloys, Benton Harbor, MI, in 1988 after 36 years of service.  Jesse was called from labor to reward on December 18, 2018. Jesse three sons, Christopher, Rodney (deceased), Michael, Ray (D’Jaris) and one daughter, Tena and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jesse was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Malinda, one son Rodney, and 12 siblings
