A home is a total loss following a fire at a farm just south of Berrien Springs this week. The fire was overnight Thursday at the house at the corner of Old U.S. 31 and Fairland Road in Berrien Township, near Villwock’s Farm Market. The market posted to its Facebook page Thursday morning to say the house was vacant, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The market was not damaged. Same goes for the chickens and chicken coop. The home had most recently been occupied by Dorothy Villwock, one of the founders of Villwock’s Farm Market. The market’s Facebook post says she passed away in June. The post says “Now the house is gone too, along with everything inside.”
