Lenora Lee Nagy

Lenora Lee Nagy, age 77, went to sleep on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, MI after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

 Lenora was born October 6, 1941 on a small farm outside Elkhart, IN to the late Charles Bert and Lallah Bonita (Bolenbaugh) Weimer. She was the second of four children. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959 and married her best friend John Nagy, Jr. on April 8, 1961. During their 57 years of marriage they shared many jokes and much laughter. In fact, they could have had their own comedy show! They spent their summers in Benton Harbor, MI and their winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL. Lenora worked at MORryde as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1996.

 Lenora was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and member of the St. Joseph, MI congregation. Christian meetings at the Kingdom Hall and sharing good news from the Bible with others were a very important part of Lenora’s life. She loved music, dancing, and spending quality time with her family. She had a big heart, a contagious smile, and made the best macaroni and cheese.

  Lenora was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Keene. She is survived by her husband John; her three children, Julia (Robert) Oberheu of Stevensville, MI, John (Kelly) Nagy of Lafayette, IN, and Jimmy (Stephanie) Nagy of Willow, AK; four grandchildren, Emma (Javier) Fernandez of Montecristi, Dominican Republic, Sarah (Trent) Lamoreaux of Stevensville, MI and Vaughan and Grant Nagy of Willow, AK; a sister, Sylvia (Art) Charles of Kendallville, IN; a brother, Claude Weimer, of Elkhart, IN; her sister-in-law, Mary Keene of Springfield, VA; along with nephews and nieces.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 2 at 4:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
