The push for new rules in the U.S House continues. Congressman Fred Upton tells WSJM News the Problem Solvers group appears to be gaining momentum with so many new members having been elected this month. The Problem Solvers want the new House Speaker to ensure amendments or bills supported by a certain number of representatives are guaranteed consideration.

“My sense is that the Problem Solvers agenda is going to be very much front and center in terms of trying to break the gridlock, forcing this place to work,” Upton said.

Upton says meetings are set for this week for that issue to be pushed. He doesn’t know who the new Speaker will be, but told us this fall some members of the bi-partisan group had pledged to oppose any possible Speaker who refused to accept serious changes to House rules.
