An attempted assault on a woman outside of the Staples store in Benton Township last week is under investigation. The Benton Township Police Department tells us it took a report last Wednesday of the incident alleged to have occurred around 8 the night before. A woman reported she was walking through the parking lot on Mall Drive when she was followed by an unknown white male who attempted to grab her hair. The woman managed to run away. The suspect has not been identified. He’s described as having a stocky build. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Benton Township Police Department.
