Plenty of Michigan residents are headed out for Thanksgiving. New estimates have been released from Triple-A Michigan showing 1.7 million planning a trip of at least 50 miles. The projection is up 5% from last year’s numbers, and the ninth straight year of increases year-over-year for travel for turkey day. It’s also the highest travel projection for the holiday in 11 years. The vast majority at 1.5 million will be driving.
