An old video of Bill Schuette has surfaced that some say is creepy, and Schuette says shows what a bad sense of humor he used to have. Shot in 1989 while he was a member of the U.S. House, he’s seen smiling at a woman off-camera and making a suggestive comment as she asks him to move closer to a lamp in the video frame as she is preparing to interview him.

“I will do anything you want,” Schuette told the woman, adding, “some things I may not let you run the camera on.”

Schuette says it must have been shot before he met his wife, but admits it’s embarrassing. While a 38-second version of the video was put out by a Democratic group Thursday, a lower-quality 32-second version had been up on miconservativenews.com since July, but was removed Friday morning. On Twitter, Gretchen Whitmer wrote “I imagine everyone who’s watched it had the same uncomfortable look on our faces.” She also took the opportunity to attack further, saying even more troubling “is the fact that Schuette has spent the past 33 years in office attacking the rights of women and working to take away our access to contraception and health care.”
