A popular park in St. Joseph now belongs to the city.
The Kiwanis Club voted last week to give the Tiny Tots Park across the street from First Church of God to the city of St. Joseph. The Kiwanis Club says they were asked about making the donation within the past few months.
“I mean it’s great to give back to the city, and still have the opportunity to take care of it and sponsor it and celebrate the youth in our community with a quality park like Tiny Tots,” said Chris Huegel, president of the Kiwanis Club of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor.
The park is on the corner of Botham and Pixley avenues and is almost a half-acre. The Kiwanis Club name will remain on the park, and the organization’s logo will be kept on one of the fences.
