Gonzalo J. Hernandez, 75, of Niles, passed away at his residence on September 5, 2018, following a brief illness.
He was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, on October 4, 1942, to the late Gonzalo Jaime Sr. and Agueda (Rosa) Hernandez.
Gonzalo worked for many years as a production worker in local foundries. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Benjamin J. Hernandez and Necky J. Hernandez; brother-in-law Leonardo Mendez
Gonzalo is survived by his four children, David (Amy) Hernandez of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Juanita Hernandez of Georgia, Maria Mendez of Niles, and Margarita (Eric) Pedigo of Goshen, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Angel Hernandez, Claro Hernandez, Elena Hernandez, Luz Maria Hernandez, and Rafael Hernandez.
His family will gather to remember him privately.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Niles.
