A $2.6 million expansion is being planned by Mattawan-based Tri-Mation Industries. Zachary Morris with Kinexus tells WSJM News the company is an automation solutions company founded in 1995 that right now has 35 employees. Its new 40,000 square foot building and additional equipment will be a boost to the area.

“It’s going to expand the local tax base, and it’s going to add 15 new high-paying job to the area,” Morris said. “That’s going to be the biggest thing in terms of what it means to the area. Also I think what it shows is that businesses are seeing Van Buren County as a place where they can grow their business, get affordable property to build on, and still have access to talented local people.”

Morris says Kinexus helped Tri-Mation secure an Industrial Development District designation for the project. That means a ten-year tax exemption for the company. He says the company’s plans will mean $4 million in economic growth for the area.
