Not one, but two area schools have state titles to celebrate. Coloma won the District 3 girls softball championship in Saturday with a 7-6 win over Millington for their first ever state championship in the sport and finished the year 38-and-3. The Lakeshore Lancers are also back-to-back champions in the state in Division 2 for baseball. For senior Tony Williams, it was special to go out with a win.

“Going back-to-back after this year is insane,” said Williams. “It’s the best way to end your senior year on top, winning your last game. Not many people can win their last game, so it’s amazing.”

A parade and rally were held for the Lancers upon their return from Lansing on Saturday. Joel Brawley got the win for Lakeshore, pitching 6.2 innings in the 6-3 win over Saginaw Swan Valley.
