New Red Cross Campaign

The American Red Cross has launched a new summer blood collection campaign aimed at drawing attention to the need for different blood types. Red Cross spokesperson Tod Kulman tells WSJM News the Missing Types campaign will partner the Red Cross with other organizations.

“As part of the campaign, the letters A, B, and O — which are letters used to identify blood types — are disappearing around the country and around the world from corporate logos, favorite brands, social media, and websites to illustrate the critical role that every blood donor plays,” Kulman said.

For example, if you go to the website of the Red Cross, you’ll notice the letter O missing from its logo. Kulman says the Red Cross wants people to notice how important the letters A, B, and O are, and then sign up to donate. You can do so at RedCrossBlood.org. You can also get the Red Cross app on your phone.
