President Barack Obama was back in Flint Wednesday, getting an update on the public health crisis stemming from the city’s tainted water supply. Before speaking Northwestern High School, Obama met with officials and residents of Flint. The president said this disaster could have been avoided.

“This should not have happened in the first place, and even though the scope of the response looks sort of like the efforts we’re used to seeing after a natural disaster, that’s not what this was,” Obama said. “This was a man-made disaster. This was avoidable. This was preventable.”

Earlier in the day, Obama drank a glass of filtered water. He also met with Governor Rick Snyder. Snyder was booed by the crowd when he spoke at the school ahead of Obama’s address. He also apologized for the water crisis.
