Berrien County officials say that the recent recall election in the Benton Harbor school district cost almost 14-thousand dollars. The Herald Palladium reported this week that it all worked out to around twelve-dollars and 69-cents per voter in an election that saw a turnout of just four percent. All three of the school board members targeted in the recall survived the attempt, which was in response to their support of a bus privatization plan. One of them -- School Board President Dan McGinnis -- told the paper that the matter was a waste of time and money.
