It was a big weekend for WSJM sister station 97.5 Y Country and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. This weekend's "Country Cares for Kids" St. Jude Radiothon raised over $21,000 for the health care charity. St. Jude's Rachel Lemon says the money will help fund research and the hospital's free services.
It was Y-Country's fifth annual fundraiser for the Memphis, Tennessee children's research hospital. St. Jude's Rachel Lemon says the amount raised is in line with last year's donations.
During the weekend, volunteers answered the phones, while Y-Country radio personalities greeted listeners in person and on the phone for 13 hours each day. St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital is located in Memphis Tennessee. It's the third-largest health care charity. To find out more, visit their website Saint Jude dot org.
