Linda Stermer is going to jail - for life - for murdering her husband Todd at their Lawrence home three years ago. A Van Buren County Judge handed down the manadatory life without parole sentence yesterday (monday). Stermer has just over a month to appeal, which she plans to do. She maintains her innocence - claiming her husband set himself on fire while trying to burn the house down and that she accidentally ran over him in the driveway going for help. The jury didn't believe her and the judge was required by law to give her the life sentence.
