Possible SH Zoning Ordiance Changes For Green Collar Jobs



The South Haven City Council may ask its Planning Commission to look into some zoning ordinance amendments Monday night, so an organic waste ethanol plant can come to town. South Haven Project Manager Paul VandenBosh says DeAnza is thinking about building an organic waste ethanol plant at the former Bohn Piston plant on Aylworth Avenue. VandenBosh says the ordinances needs text changes to allow the manufacture of ethanol fuel.

VandenBosh says the City Council will decide Monday night if it wants the Planning Commission to look into the possible changes. He says DeAnza's purchase of the plant would be a big investment for the area. DeAnza could put up to $6 million into the plant and bring new jobs to the area.
