State police have released the names of two people involved in a fatal crash in Van Buren County on Thursday. Investigators aren’t sure yet whether it was the crash that caused the death, or a death that caused the crash. An autopsy is being conducted to determine if 50 year old Laura Castle of Bloomingdale was already dead before her 1994 Chevrolet left the roadway, clipped a mailbox and came back onto the pavement crossing into the path of a Pick-up driven by 69 year old Edward Pullen of Gobles. The collision on M-43 just east of 30th in Almena Township destroyed both vehicles. Pullen has been upgraded to good condition at Bronson Hospital. Both drivers were belted in, although they suspect in Castle’s case, it didn’t make any difference.
