An early Sunday morning fire chased a Hagar Township family from their home. The 9-1-1 call came in just after 4 am with the caller telling dispatchers there was fire throughout the house. Dispatch said 3 fire departments - North Berrien, Watervliet and Covert - had everything under control by 6 am. Nobody was injured and there was no word on the extent of damage to the home on Dearborn Place in Hagar Township. Firefighers, though, said the family lost everything including their dogs. The American Red Cross of Berrien County is helping the family
